Service of Healing

We also offer a healing service on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM. Prayers for healing are offered to each person who wishes prayer and the laying on of hands. You do not need to be physically sick or injured to need healing. Many people struggling with personal issues, burdensome memories, or with the desire to receive healing for another person they care about. Scripture teaches that we can also be anointed on behalf of others.

The service of healing is preceeded by Evening Prayer and a brief homily. Evening Prayer is a liturgy celebrated in the late afternoon or evening. It is roughly the equivalent of Vespers in the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutheran churches, although it was originally formed by combining the monastic offices of Vespers and Compline.

The service of Evening Prayer includes canticles, the Lord's Prayer, a psalm, two lessons from the Bible, the Apostles Creed, evening-specific collects, and other prayers and intercessions.
